The pandemic has brought staycations to the fore. For instance, people like the convenience of travelling a little bit far from home and continuing their office work. If you plan something like this and have booked a holiday home, you can carry your precious belongings by renting a transit van.

Fulfilling Short-term Business Contracts

At T G Commercials Self Drive, we carry a vast fleet of vans of all types, so you do not have to look elsewhere. Moreover, if you are looking for a specific model or type of van, our team can source it for you. So, if you want to hire a van in Doncaster, here are the different types that you need to know about.

hire a van in Doncaster

Small, medium, and large vans size is always an important factor when you are hiring a van and the most basic sizes available are small, medium and large vans. Smaller vans showcase a short wheelbase, and they offer great manoeuvrability. However, these vans offer less cargo capacity.

On the other hand, medium vans bridge the gap between small and large vans. They offer a good deal of storage space and ensure the ride is comfortable. Medium panel vans and camper vans are classified as medium vans. You can hire such vans when you are moving house or office and need to carry quite many items.

Large vans offer the most payload space, and they have a long wheelbase. They provide a smoker drive due to the extended space between the axles. It is possible to drive large vans if you have a standard UK driver license.

  • 4X4 or pickup vans

You can recognise pickup vans easily because they feature an open-air cargo bed. Also, these vans come in two- or four-wheel drive, and it is popular for businesses. You can use these vans to transport goods from to and fro.

  • Box vans

Box vans incorporate an enclosed body and feature a boxy, tall cargo bay. The vans come with a separate cab, and they are typically more comprehensive than a panel van. These vans are a favourite of delivery and courier drivers because their boxy shape makes it easier to deliver bulkier loads.

Besides these, you can also hire a van in Doncaster with a tipper feature that will make it easier for you to load heavy items inside the van.

You can get in touch with T G Commercials Self Drive for more information. We have a large fleet of vans ready for you to hire. Our prices are flexible and competitive.

In many businesses – manufacturing, import/export, wholesale supply, and so on – there is a need to transport goods around the country to customers, a warehouse, a forwarding agent, or whatever. However, many of those businesses don’t need to be transporting goods every day of the week. In some instances it may be only once or twice a week, every other week, half a dozen times a month, and in some cases the need fluctuates so you need to deliver every day for the next ten days, and then won’t need your lorry for another fortnight.

This is why it is so much better to rent a lorry in Nottingham when you need it. To begin with, you don’t have the very large investment in a lorry that may be standing in your yard doing nothing for half the time, so you free up that capital for expanding your business. You don’t have to service and maintain it, buy new tyres every so often, and things like that. Furthermore, you don’t have to insure it and tax it.

Tipper trucks date back to the 1920’s and 30’s when they first came into being. They are basically divided into two types according to the way that the body is configured. The one that is known as the standard type is the one that empties its’ bed at the rear of the vehicle. This has hinges at the rear of the chassis and a hydraulic ram at the front of the body just behind the cab. The hinges effectively hold down the bed and allow it to be raised, while the hydraulic ram produces sufficient power to lift the body and its contents high in the air which then tip out at the rear of the vehicle.

The standard type of tipper truck is fine for use on sites where there is plenty of space. The driver needs to be able to move around and get the vehicle into the correct position for tipping the load.

However, on sites where the space is limited it would be a much better idea to use a three-way tipper. As the name suggests, this can tip not only off the rear, but also off the left or right side of the bed. This is achieved by the use of two hydraulic rams on each side of the vehicle. Lifting the two rams on the left side of the bed will allow it to dump to the right, and vice versa. Lifting the rams behind the cab will tip to the rear, as with the standard tipper.

When you need to move goods around the country safely and securely and away from prying eyes, one of the best ways to do so is in a box trailer. It is also known as a box van, dry freighter van, or enclosed trailer. As the box trailer is a completely rigid unit with loading doors at the rear, it makes it a secure option for transporting valuable goods such as electronics, clothing, foodstuffs, machinery, and so on. They will all be safe and weatherproof.

When you need box trailer hire in Chesterfield you can hire a tractor unit from us as well, or of course use your own tractor if you have one. Goods are typically stacked on pallets and loaded using a fork-lift truck, but clothing can also be hung if required. For extra safety, you can, of course, tie down the goods or use straps to tie them to the sides of the trailer so that they can’t move about during transit. The enclosed design of the box trailer means that nobody can see what you are transporting, or even if the trailer is full or empty.

Industries hire vehicles and trucks to move materials from one place to another. This is especially common in the construction industry where 3.5 tonne tipper hire in Manchester is often considered to constrict the budget. These tipper trucks follow safety and road protocols and are efficient in moving fragile and valuable materials with a guarantee on their security. Tipper trucks are commercial vehicles because of their space in the back and as a bulk goods unloader. They have a movable or flexible dump bed that helps in convenient unloading and loading of materials. If your business or personal prospects require you to move bulks of materials from one place to another, hiring a tipper truck will cut down on budget as well as ensures safety on goods.

Heavy-duty Built
Tripper trucks are very strongly built and hence are ideal for carrying huge weights in one trip. Since they can carry a lot of weight together without any inconvenience, they are ideal to carry bricks and sand and other goods in the construction industry. As a result of such a secure enclosure, all deliverables remain safe and damage-free until they reach their destination.
